Time
is of the essence. Every day you postpone scheduling a
meeting with me reduces our time to prepare...
Our successful
outcome is wholly dependent upon the mutual trust and open
communication we build together as a team. Everything you
tell me remains in complete confidence. Therefore, it is
essential that you come to our initial meeting with a mind
set of openness and trust. Furthermore, it is imperative to
our success that you keep this open mind set throughout our
entire relationship.
Once we reach
an agreement to work together, I enter an appearance on your
behalf in court. Then, I am able to review the State's file
and discuss the evidence that the State is using to
prosecute you. From there, we are able to discuss the
possible angles to our defense and what areas require
additional investigation. I employ a licensed private
investigator that is trained to obtain information to assist
in your defense. A lot of the investigative portion is time
sensitive and must be done as soon as possible. For
example,
several of the
records we request from the various agencies are only kept
for a limited time period and if they are not timely
requested, they can be destroyed without recourse.
I also research the applicable law to your case and how we
can use it to either shield you from any inappropriate State
behavior or assist you in holding the State to its burden.
At each stage, we discuss how your defense is developing and
what your options are and the benefits and or risks
associated with them. Together, we decide what is
appropriate according to your concerns, objectives and
priorities. I believe that in each case, the individuals
involved have different needs and different concerns and my
aim is to tailor our strategy accordingly.
My greatest
successes have been when I have placed my client on the
witness stand. I absolutely refuse to put anyone on the
witness stand that I do not think is ready. I will make sure
that you are prepared, educated, and remain informed at all
times for as long as I handle your case.
